Grant Rowan built this team to be the crew he’d want on his own house.

I started Rowan Construction Group in 2007 after watching too many homeowners get halfway through a remodel and discover the price they’d been quoted was a fantasy. Seventeen years and more than 4,000 projects later, I still read every written quote before it goes out. I don’t believe in “ballpark figures” or “we’ll figure it out as we go.” Under Clause 1 of the Haven Standard, the price is written before anyone starts, and under Clause 4, no change proceeds without a signed change order. I keep a photo record of every job on my phone, not because I have to, but because I still like seeing the work. My idea of a good day is when a customer in Los Angeles calls back two years later for their next project and the number we gave them matched the final invoice within a few percent.
Marcus T., Lead Technician
Marcus has been with us since 2019, and he runs the crew on our most complex kitchen and bathroom remodels across Los Angeles. He’s certified in tile membrane installation and has a particular specialty with waterproofing details in older Los Angeles homes where the original construction didn’t include proper weep screed at stucco transitions. Marcus is the one who will stop everything if the substrate isn’t right, and he’s also the one who brings homemade tamales to job sites in December. Homeowners in Koreatown still ask for him by name from a backsplash job he did in 2021.

She’s been with Rowan since 2016 and knows which technician is certified for which trade, who’s closest to your neighborhood, and whether your issue needs a full crew or a single visit. Elena schedules every appointment with a two-hour window and sends the technician’s photo and background-check confirmation before they arrive. She keeps a map of Los Angeles traffic patterns pinned above her desk and updates it in real-time, which is why our arrival estimates are accurate within fifteen minutes.
Jake P., Apprentice
Jake joined us in 2022 after completing the carpentry program at Los Angeles Trade-Technical College, and he’s currently rotating through every trade on our roster before he specializes. Right now he’s shadowing Marcus on a kitchen remodel in Mid-City, learning to read cabinet shop drawings and verify that KraftMaid door profiles match the sample the homeowner approved. Jake asks more questions than anyone on the crew, which is exactly what we want. He also has a habit of labeling every fastener bin with both the size and the project name, a system he invented after mixing up hardware on a fence installation in Eagle Rock. Grant has already told him he’s not allowed to leave for another company until he’s trained his replacement.
