Delta manufactured windows and doors under several series names over the years, and the parts are not cross-compatible between lines. The Delta 400 Series tilt-wash double-hungs use a different balance shoe and pivot bar than the Delta 600 Series casements, which rely on a crank operator with a specific 11/32-inch spindle diameter. If you’re holding a failed part, look for the embossed Delta logo and a four-digit date code - the first two digits indicate the plant, the second two the year - usually found on the glass spacer or the frame edge.

For sliding patio doors, Delta’s 800 Series used steel rollers with a 1-1/4-inch wheel and a 3/8-inch axle bore, while the later 900 Series switched to a composite roller housing that cracks predictably after eight to twelve years in direct sun. The aftermarket rollers often outlast the originals - the stainless steel axle versions handle the grit that blows in from the Santa Ana winds better than the zinc-plated OEM spec. • Lock tongue won’t extend or retract fully. The multipoint lock mechanism has corroded internally or the keeper has shifted. Coastal properties from Marina del Rey to San Pedro see this earlier from salt air; the internal springs rust solid.
