DIY or Call Us?

There’s a safe middle ground here. A homeowner can check whether the window is locked properly, clear track debris with a vacuum and dry brush, and confirm the weep holes at the sill aren’t blocked, these are maintenance items, not repairs. What we don’t recommend: removing a sash with a failed balance, since the spring tension can release unpredictably and the sash weighs 15-30 pounds depending on size. Glass unit replacement requires proper handling of tempered or annealed glass, and cutting old sealant with a utility knife around a window frame six feet off the ground is a fall risk.
